I had carpal tunnel surgery two years ago and have arthritis in the same big toe. This sometimes makes it difficult to grab the lids. I bought them because they came in two packs. I leave one at home and one in my bag that goes to work with me. It's a pretty simple concept: the ridges on the bottle opener grab the ridges on the bottle cap, and so far it's working great. At the moment my only complaint is that it's not big enough to open the bottles I have the most trouble with. It just doesn't open wide enough for some of my iced tea bottles. Another issue I see in the future is that I'm not sure the loop will last long if you open it wide.
