Product works as pictured however the sponges in the filter cup clog up very very quickly and if they clog the suction you will have to stop, rinse the sponges and start again. There are two sponges - one is thin and more compact, and the other is thicker but less dense. I've tried both at the same time and both and it still clogged with no waste - what it did was smooth the waste into a layer on the sponge so even a small amount would quickly stop the water flow. If you're not the type to constantly remove stains to reduce waste (especially fish waste without throwing away uneaten food after feeding), you'll get frustrated as you keep stopping and starting cleaning. Filter. A different filter material or a design change would not hurt.
