My wife tried some replacement caps from the local WM for her 2007 Ford Explorer but we still got the 'small vacuum leak' error message. I decided to try this OEM connector just to rule it out as a possible cause (always start with the easiest first!) and after a few months no light came back. I also recommend disconnecting the battery overnight rather than clearing the code with a scanner, which I never did until recently. Finally, a light press on the FYI.ONE CLICK button is enough to close the reservoir. I hear people at the gas station clicking theirs and I have to chuckle as they're just shortening the life of their gas caps.
