The night I installed it in the aquarium it broke and started a fire. If my pet chinchilla hadn't woken me up it would have been a disaster. I sent it back and got a full refund. I read the instructions and set the temp on low to start with so I could track the changes. there is no reason why he should go broke. Maybe I just got a bad one, but be careful with this product.
