I've used quite a few grinders in my 40+ years of woodworking. I had an old Makita workhorse that was given to one of my kids. I had a cheap 1/3 blade B&D that vibrated a lot in my hands but was only semi good for rough sanding. I still have an old Rockwell commercial 1/2 blade sander that still does a good job sanding 60-120 after installing the new pad. My choice for a grinder is still my original porter corded RO, which was as good as the air powered Dynabrade when I had a specialty store. Currently working on personal projects, my PC 330 1/4 sheet metal vibration isolators have become stiffer and are vibrating the case more than the pad. Unfortunately, the parts are more expensive than they're worth, and there's no dust collector. After a long search, I decided on this Devolte. The first few uses were very good, I've mostly only used it for 120 and finer cuts and so far it's proving excellent. It has enough power and is comfortable to hold. I don't think I've ground continuously for more than 30 minutes, but so far it's been way better than my old grinders. The vortex is minimal compared to my other grinders, with the exception of the reverse osmosis which generally does its job well. But for better control, smaller faces, edges and rounded faces I find this type easier to control. The dust extraction was better than I expected. There doesn't seem to be any liner on the surface of the block so I'm hesitant to try my PSA paper as I have a few rolls left. I'm a bit worried that the foam might peel off. My other PPE pads are cloth or vinyl coated. In any case, the back paperclip is quite strong so care must be taken not to overstretch it and break the plastic hinge. The front clip is basic - don't know why the different clips, all my others were the same front and back and always held up well. I subtracted a star for the dust connector - there is absolutely no reason it couldn't be able to accept a standard sized hose, the only reason is that Dewalt can sell an extra adapter at an inflated price. I think I read that a 1-1/4" rubber coupler might fit. I have a 2-1/2" step adapter for my RO, will have to see if that fits. For now, I'm happy with the mini dust collector. Overall I am very happy with this grinder.
