Perfect for some not others
I have 2 fences and these 4 inch caps fit these fence posts perfectly, one set of posts is square and the other is angled. I just had to find matching nails. I also have backyard steps with a pressure treated post that did not fit due to a long piece of plastic in the cover hole. These ladder posts are cut on 4 deeply beveled sides with a square cut at the top so this long piece prevented it from to sit on a pole. I removed the old black caps from my square fence post and put the new ones on and then used the old stair post caps, the old ones fit much better. , without long plastic holes... Viola!
