Review on Torin Steel Rotating Engine Stand: BIG RED T26801, 360 Degree Head, Foldable Frame, 3/4 Ton, Red - 1,500 lb Capacity by Mike Lunde

Bought to restore BMW V10. We needed a VERY stable platform that could support the length and weight of a V10 or V12 (engines aren't that heavy, but when placed cantilevered they add weight to the stand). The base is wide and many people have trouble loading the engine from the lift. My engine was shipped on a pallet and a forklift/hi-low was raised with the engine on the edge of the pallet and the engine stand to line it up with the engine, then lowered to the floor. Engine onto a platform/bench that the stand can slide under, install the engine stand, then raise the engine with the stand secured to the floor (an engine jack/cherry picker can be used). VERY stable and durable device. The only minor gripe was that the holes in the "storage fold" weren't ideal for installing a stylus. Some persuasion was required, but holes didn't need to be "hammered out". Mr P
