Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works much better than expected and easy to set up too.

It's not often that I feel compelled to write a product review, but I am very impressed with this one. Easy to install I almost didn't buy it because of the reviews where people said it was difficult to install. I have no idea what they were talking about, if the directions have improved recently or if they were just really tight. Seriously, setup was as complicated as plugging it into the wall, plugging it into the ethernet, and by the time I got to the computer it was already working. I went to the configuration page at 192.168.0.50 and it was already accepting my SSID and password, so my current network was rebroadcast with the security key without any action on my part. Expectations and Actual Performance Reading about "smart beam technology" makes me suspicious of clever marketing gimmicks, and I expected a marginal improvement in my Wi-Fi signal at best. I have a program installed to diagnose WiFi signals and on the other side of my house I usually get around 52% signal, 120ms latency and 1.5Mbps. With this device, I was pleased with a 100 percent latency of 39s and speeds of 14-15 Mbit/s. I was expecting to hit maybe 75% of the max, but definitely not 100. When I saw this, I took my phone outside and was able to connect anywhere on the street, although previously I could barely connect in my bedroom .

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • For old
