The best WAP I've ever had!

I needed/wanted to replace my aging dlink dap-1522 and wanted something that would cover my whole house. 1522 was a good apartment but could not get to the top floor of our 3 storey apartment/townhouse. I bought a companion router for my daughter who is in college and it has worked very well, never failed or given her any problems and in almost a year she has not had to restart it once. I saw this Companion Wap and was a previous dlink customer. I chose to do this based on strength of usage and

Works much better than expected and easy to set up too.

It's not often that I feel compelled to write a product review, but I am very impressed with this one. Easy to install I almost didn't buy it because of the reviews where people said it was difficult to install. I have no idea what they were talking about, if the directions have improved recently or if they were just really tight. Seriously, setup was as complicated as plugging it into the wall, plugging it into the ethernet, and by the time I got to the computer it was already working. I went…

Does almost what I need

I have a Raspberry Pi at home to do my routing tasks as I need an inexpensive solution to connect different devices connect you don't normally use ethernet from Android phones and portable hotspots. I've been using Ethernet from the Pi and WiFi from handhelds, but due to the noisy 2.4, I needed a good 802.11n 5GHz solution with some beamforming options for everything else. GHz spectrum in my apartment building. I really didn't want anything to do with traffic, just a reliable hotspot. I…

Easy to set up and works

It took me ten minutes to set up the hotspot. I connected an ethernet cable to it from the switch, set it to 2.4 ap and powered it on. I was able to add it to my network but I changed the address from 192.168.0.50 to .51 in case I get a different one. That gives me 35 Mbps down and 5 Mbps on my ground floor. My basement router used to transmit earlier, but when it went to the second floor it was 4 down and 200 up. It was too slow for videos. Now in the bedrooms we get 26 and 4 speeds. videos no
