Can heat up unevenly and cause problems
I like these heating mats, the performance is much better than the similar ones I've bought but after a few months of use they start to have problems. I use them to heat quail chicks in aquariums and they worked great until one of them "grimaced" and got very hot in one spot and barely warm in another. The other has held up well. Those Chinese things sometimes flip a coin. I "do it yourself" extra duct tape laminated crumpled and it works great keeping a 1 gallon chicken drinker thawed at 30° so not bad.
