I'm tending an old (very old) farmhouse. There's lead paint in many places outside. I know it's lead because of the crack patterns. Lead paint, despite that Danger extremely durable and hard as a nail to remove you will exhaust yourself trying to scrape it by hand HOWEVER these rotary tools do a great job of stripping off old lead paint and the only tedious job is holding the drill mask and safety goggles, and always stay off the plane of rotation if the pin breaks (although I have found that this only happens if I heavily overwork the tool or it has only had a few hundred hours of use), the speed and efficiency of This tool is not to be underestimated I have bought several of these, thank goodness I can buy them online! Hardware stores don't usually have them. It has my Ar work is greatly accelerated and will leave a clean and paintable surface for a very long time. Final note: do not use the course if you want a smooth, clean surface. If you're not careful, it easily tears off the base wood. Only use it in the most difficult situations. A thin tool won't damage the wood underneath much, if at all, and is what I would recommend for most jobs.
