As already mentioned, the "leg" is made of soft metal and bends very easily. I expected this when I first started using the tool and tried not to apply too much pressure. However, after about 15 minutes of use, the leg began to bend noticeably. Another review mentioned drilling a hole in the shank and inserting a drill to stiffen the foot. This worked for me. I didn't solder the bit in place, I just cut it so that it protrudes a little from the top of the shank. Therefore, when the rod is inserted into the recess at the end of the tool handle, the insert becomes trapped and has nowhere to go. The 5/64 bit size seems like the right fit for this. I've used it quite a bit, having put the drill in with no sign of flexing. I think this is a permanent solution. I'm giving it 4 stars because I expected to have to do this fix. I've looked for higher quality tools that don't require patching and found that they cost at least twice as much as this one. The rest of the tool seems to be of good quality and there is a decent supply of material for patch welding. If you're willing to work a little and sacrifice a drill to fix your foot, this is a useful tool at a modest price. I don't think I would get much use out of it without fixing the drill before the foot breaks or bends to the point that it becomes difficult to use.
