redeemed me! best for welding and soldering

I had a slight crease in the fender that tore the tab off my bumper cover. New pump cover is $500 PLUS for painting, installation time etc. Bought in hopes it will be repaired. I have NEVER used a plastic welder in my life, never watched videos, and yet I managed to get it to work as intended! Lots of money saved. Certainly not the cleanest job, anything larger or more visible needs sanding and painting, but for the price it's AMAZING!

Works well on weld systems

Recently used to repair a cut in our mower's fuel tank. (Slash? How did you do that? Let's just say look at the ownership tags.) I decided to try the $30 fix before spending $250 on a new tank. It worked like a charm! Aside from being a different color, you can't tell the slash was ever there. You must be patient and not rush. I also bought the correct plastic welding wires for the PP tank - don't know what the black ones that come with this kit are made of.

This helped repair a tear in the kayak

I had an approximately 4 inch tear in the bottom of our Hobie kayak that someone had previously improperly repaired. This kit allowed me to make the permanent fix I needed. The kit itself is suitable for a one-off repair or light hobby, but slightly lighter for any body work or serious patching job. The type of plastic is not specified, which would be helpful. Matching the type to the repaired item guarantees good performance. . Let the tip do its job and don't press too hard. The kayak is…

Very good device for the money!

Unpacked and at first glance like a normal soldering iron. After using it, I was impressed with how well this tool works. First, it has a 70 inch cable. There were no problems with the length of the cable. Once plugged in, it quickly warmed up to operating temperature. It lasted about 90 seconds. This thing gets very, very hot. Hot enough for almost any application. A few tips: 1. Follow the suggested repair methods.2. DO NOT press the tip hard to melt the plastic. It's not mandatory. Let the…

Aha! It works ! suitable for welders

I accidentally drilled a hole in the boat's plastic tank and bought this to fix the hole. The day it arrived my daughter ripped off the bumper of her car (ABS plastic) and I took advantage of that fiasco to learn how to weld plastic. I also bought three other more expensive plastic welding machines and this machine was definitely a lifesaver! I drilled some holes in an old gas bottle to experiment with a different type of plastic and only in the kit. comes with strips to fill abs. I used zip…

Very economical DIY plastic welder (not for kids)

This is a very inexpensive plastic welder for repairing cracked bumpers or repairing other plastic parts. I checked other offers from similar welders and noticed that people complained that the tip was bent, but there was no need to press it that hard. Just be patient and let the welder heat up and melt the plastic and then smooth it out. Women. Why pay 3-4 times more for a basic plastic welder if you don't work in an auto repair shop and don't need to use it every day? It took a few minutes to

Works, but has a weak point

As already mentioned, the "leg" is made of soft metal and bends very easily. I expected this when I first started using the tool and tried not to apply too much pressure. However, after about 15 minutes of use, the leg began to bend noticeably. Another review mentioned drilling a hole in the shank and inserting a drill to stiffen the foot. This worked for me. I didn't solder the bit in place, I just cut it so that it protrudes a little from the top of the shank. Therefore, when the rod is…
