Scrap prices are always going up and down. But bare copper wire is always worth more than insulated wire. In our area the price for bare copper wire is usually 3x and more than insulated. The return on investment is quick if you scrap wire. In my case one trip paid for itself and then some. The unit is easy to set up and operate. I have mine bolted to a work board that I set on top of a trash can. I strip the wire, drop it in the can, throw insulation in a nearby trash can. Quick and efficient. I also keep a razor knife and wire cutter on the work area for wire nuts, ties, etc. My sons and I will put on a hockey or baseball game and talk while stripping wire. The noise level is so low there is no distraction. We spend time together, make play money, and give mom a break from 3 boys. I've told coworkers about this machine and even loaned it to one of them. So far two of them have bought one and are equally in love with it.
