I have been using these filters for several years now. I ordered a 'New Improved' box in September 2018 and just today I went to replace the first used one out of the box. Flushing according to the directions, I noticed the water was black and filtering from the bottom. After being placed on a paper towel, the wet impression left was also black. I opened the third filter and found the same thing. I've never seen this before. Now I have to throw them both away. I couldn't find any production date or batch number so now I'm suspicious of buying others.
