Review on Versatile SunJack USB Battery Charger for All Rechargeable Batteries by Roger Mitchell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great charger. Can charge any number or combination of batteries. Ideal for children's toys and camping.

I am currently using Tenergy Low Self Discharge AA Tenergy AA 2000mah NiMH rechargeable batteries (pack of 24) and Tenergy 800mAh NiMH (800mah) AAA Low Self Discharge rechargeable batteries 24 pack. When using different devices and tools it is necessary to charge maybe 1 battery, 3 or 4. I bought two of these batteries as sometimes I need to charge up to 8 batteries at the same time. My son (and I, sorry I can't lie) have a lot of "toys" and we run out of batteries very quickly. Suitable for charging during: - Camping. Use a USB solar charger (try 2A or more). - Car charger. Using a 3.1A USB charger. Charging from a wall outlet. (Look for at least 2A. Many modern (7/2017) wall outlets with built-in USB ports will charge at 2A or more). - All USB ports that cannot safely support 1A. - All intermittent power sources, such as Batteries will charge, but this may take a full day. I made the mistake of trying to charge the batteries by leaving the solar panel in the car where there was no continuous sunlight during the day. Even for a full day in intermittent sun, I didn't see any green LEDs above my AA (2000mAh) batteries (although AAA (800mAh) batteries were fine). It was ideal for a variety of indoor and outdoor situations. There is no excessive heat. Easy to use. I originally bought this to use the SunJack CampLight(TM) 340 Lumens USB LED Bulb - Cool White (for camping, hiking, fishing, backpacking and other outdoor activities and emergencies) but ended up using it for everything from Children's toys to LED uses headlights. The battery lasted all night with this light as my son didn't want to sleep in the dark. My only complaint is that the battery cover is sometimes awkward to use with one hand as it's difficult to open (maybe it's good for keeping the batteries from falling out), but I often hold multiple batteries in one hand, and I try to open the lid with another one. Obviously pilot error, so I'm not deducting a star. Good product. Bought a second one, have been using it for over 2 years.

Pros
  • There are 4 charge LEDs for each battery installed, up to four batteries at a time.
Cons
  • boring packaging
