The idea of this humidifier is a good one. It uses evaporation to humidify the occupied space. This makes it effective and avoids some of the problems associated with both hot water and cold water humidifiers. It's expensive but I thought it was worth it. Problem is it came with a 10 year warranty and broke after 2 1/2. I know this is an unusual time due to Covid-19 but they claim to be working from home. I was unable to contact customer service and make a warranty claim. I will update this if they ever contact me and make me happy. Upon examining it after it stopped working, I found that the movement was based on a brittle piece of plastic. Essentially, a motorized fan blows humidified air into a room. This fan also spins this fragile piece of plastic that spins 2 sets of wheels that collect water from the tank and then expose the wet wheels to the air. The water evaporates from the wheels and the steam is distributed by a fan. I don't understand how this piece of plastic can last ten years with constant bending and twisting. I gave it low stars for cleaning because only part of it is easy to clean. The reservoir is ugly. But the wheels and fan are a tedious ordeal. According to them, they don't need to be cleaned because the minerals must remain in the reservoir. The water is coated with a lighter-than-water compound that needs to absorb all of the minerals. But the fan and wheels were covered with minerals. Minerals stuck firmly to other parts. In some cases, only a toothbrush could get inside. Some parts of the wheels cannot be reached. Because it works by evaporation, the surface area is large. The amount of wheel clearance is directly related to the amount of evaporation. Much of this surface was never cleaned after the minerals were placed. But it's guaranteed, and this piece of plastic is unique. Now the contraption is a brick.
