Review on 🧢 Bernat Blanket Yarn, Silver Steel: Luxuriously Soft and Durable Winter Knitting/Crochet Yarn with a Silver Sheen by Amanda Castillo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My favorite bulky yarn, soft to the touch and easy to work with.

I recently ordered eight balls of Sailors Delight 10.5oz from Revain at an incredible price. I plan to knit a checkered and triangle shawl out of this and I'm almost done with the shawl right now. Bernat Blanket yarn is the best yarn for blankets, shawls and bedspreads. It's incredibly soft, doesn't shed or roll like other bulky acrylic threads. The resulting product from this yarn resembles a fleece blanket or sweater. He is very warm. The only downsides I've noticed with this particular shade (Sailors Delight) is the discrepancy between the density of the yarn and some fading of the color shade. My scarf uses two large skeins and the yarn from the first skein was a solid weight and color saturation. As I attached the second skein to work and made a few long skeins, I noticed that the yarn became thinner and less dense, and the color saturation faded more. Maybe that particular bullet was wound up at the end of the production run, who knows. But since it was noticeably different, I broke the ranks and exchanged the ball for another. Apart from this problem, the yarn is perfect. In case anyone is wondering how much it costs to order a solid color triangular shawl in garter stitch (37" x 66"), I knitted the previous shawl using four 5.3 oz balls in Harvest and am finishing my current project with two 10.5 skeins , ounces of Sailors Delight. Hope that helps.
