Review on πŸ”₯ High-Speed TP-LINK Archer MR600 WiFi Router in Sleek Black Design by Mateusz Maycha ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Exactly what I needed, it's a great buy, I recommend it.

The big question: spoiler or take? Naturally, use. I picked it up at the dacha, where reception is terrible. I decided to do some testing at home to check if an external antenna was required by comparing the results to the phone. First off, I got 2 SMS that I can't even decipher. Everything is fine, I just sent an SMS to my phone. The response was a string of three illegible texts. We swam, we know, we seek help, and there are many others in our situation. I found some early firmware and started getting SMS with a funny encoding (Provider Megafon sends SMS in 2022). Oh, I see what you mean now. Checking the Pace: iPhone SE 2022: 102 Mbps down/30 Mbps up; MR600: 30 Mbps down/30 Mbps up under identical conditions. Since the router has a signal-to-noise ratio 4 dB lower, the resulting speed boost is readily apparent. All OK, I restored the factory settings by reverting the firmware. There is now as much background noise as there is signal strength, and vice versa. If there is a random error, I don't see how it could be any worse than using a phone. SMS can only be read if it is encoded in English. Again, the beta firmware must be rolled and deleted if a 2022 is sent. In sum, I think the gadget is useful, but not without caveats. No commentators have mentioned or written about any miraculously high level of reception. Like a regular telephone, the reception is unremarkable. A good antenna (Read more 5k + MIMO antenna 45x45 cm and 2 NType-SMA wires, the shorter the better) is required for inaccessible, low-coverage areas. Put it on the office window and forget about it (hi, all employers who block access to the Internet for their employees; welcome to hell, I can't even read the habr). Eventually, I expect the firmware to be updated and fixed. At worst, it's available for self-collection via the GPL-licensed website itself.

Pros
  • WIFI 2.4 + 5 GHz LTE Advanced (also known as 4G+) (ac, N, g, b) SMA connector antennas that can be detached. Every key is there that you'll need. Color symbolizing information rather than insanity.
Cons
  • Faulty home-grown software, cue the tambourine dance. OpenVPN only supports operation in a server configuration. And why? Why? Unclear.
