If you have helping hands or are an octopus this might work better. But this is NOT an instrument that is easy to use when playing solo. The leg that pushes the valve spring is not fixed on the pivot. That's a terrible design. It either needs to be a one piece piece or a bracket is needed to attach the legs to the main piece. With the foot in the groove I used tape along the beam to attach the foot to it so I could lower the tool into the head and position it on the camshaft and spring. At least that way I could keep everything together. The bigger challenge was holding the foot and fulcrum in place, and then inserting a socket wrench into the fulcrum so I could actually depress the spring. It really needs a third hand. I managed to replace 2 valve lifters before deciding to order another tool. I'll try a screw and long yokes that fit under the camshaft so I can keep the spring compressed without holding a tool.
