This band does exactly what it was designed to do, which is to hold the saw guide to the workpiece and prevent it from slipping when the saw is being moved. Easy to apply and will stick to any surface it is applied to. It's not permanent and it shouldn't be. That's why they sell replacement rolls. Can't speak to the ease of removing the tape from the track during the swap. I don't have a chainsaw as I can't justify the cost. Instead, I use this with a homemade guide just as I would with a real one. Around the time the cells are shrinking and clogging, it's time for me to make a new conductor. However, based on how the tape sticks to my fingers, I guess some residue will need to be scraped off before applying the replacement. The citrus oil thinner works great on my fingers. I believe this will also clean the bottom of the track.
