I firmly believe that my Jack Russell is a part of the ninja. We used to come home with whatever was taken from our table. She devised a plan where she would move the chairs just enough to climb on and then sit on the table. Well literally after 2 days of using the mat I can say with confidence that she was cured of this minor behavior. The rug makes a decent beep when a dog steps on it, so we threw it over the seat of a chair and after she jumped on it one day, she hasn't moved since. The problem with the rug is that it is CHEAPLY made. The on/off switch was very questionable for us and sometimes worked, sometimes not. We ended up just leaving it on after it worked once so we didn't risk it not working again. Full disclosure my dog is a little shy so this may have helped YOUR case but as long as it worked I am as happy as can be.
