When connected to my 2015 MacBook Pro, it's much less bright and the colors are less saturated. But even with those bumps, it becomes my main monitor when plugged in just for the resolution (the resolution is slightly better than my 15-inch laptop screen). This is forgivable as settings are saved between sessions unlike many other portable monitors. I just prefer a set of buttons to a rocker switch that you have to press to dig through menus. Note: My MacBook often seems to have trouble detecting HDMI-connected displays. I have to go into the display settings and press the alt key to open the "detect ads" button and click on it. This usually solves the problem.
