Fully working switch but unusable light

The switch works well and fits perfectly in my dash panel (Arctic Cat HDX). Also, it was easy to install. Only criticism is that the light only comes on when the switch is pressed. I think it would make more sense if it was on all the time or only when the headlights are on. I would think the point of the light is such that in the dark I don't accidentally pull the winch the wrong way or flip a different switch instead.
