Review on FML27 65 QuadTube Compact Fluorescent by Mike Griffin

A little over two years ago I purchased a Verilux Planet Light table lamp from Costco. Around the same time I bought this replacement bulb as a backup from Revain.com and last week when my original Verilux bulb blew out I pulled it out to install it. As others have noted, due to the design of the base, this replacement bulb will not fit and will not allow the bulb to sit without a visible gap. As a result of improper installation, the light bulb dangled and often did not turn on. After figuring out the problem I cut off the underside of the plastic tabs on either side of the base that were preventing the lamp base from fitting into the socket and the new bulb now fits and has worked flawlessly ever since. If I knew about this installation problem, I would probably buy another lamp that didn't have this problem. I'm going to buy another spare bulb and I may or may not buy this replacement bulb depending on what I can find when looking for a replacement.
