They're actually quite difficult to use. The main problem is that it doesn't capture peppercorns very well. This results in you spending quite a bit of time turning the grinder over without actually grinding the peppers. Below is a scale that allows you to choose a finer or coarser grind. From my observations it does nothing. I also tried changing this setting to solve the problem of the grinder not picking up peppercorns with no improvement. But the mill looks really good. And he grinds the pepper about 50% of the time. So, if you're aiming to achieve that look and are willing to put in the patience required to grind the pepper you want, then this is the product you should definitely get your hands on. If this grinder dies (or if I can spend the money to replace it) I personally will not buy this grinder again.
