Based on the reviews I decided to try this cheaper, larger amount of lysine for my cat's feline herpes. Unfortunately, there is a very noticeable difference in its effectiveness or lack thereof. I have tried several brands and only the NOW brand has proven effective. Almost immediately after the change, the nose became stuffy and crusted with mucus, full of chills. I don't know why one brand of lysine is so different and works so much better than another, but that's the case with my poor kitty. I'll stop trying others and stick with NOW.
