Review on Hydrometer Alcohol Meter Test Kit by Brock Chisholm

I did a baseline with this meter to make sure it was calibrated. Used Knob Creek Rye 100pf, Bulleit Rye 90pf and Jameson Whiskey 80pf. They all scored 8 more points than they should have. For example, Knob Creek showed 108 on this device. So I tested distilled water and it showed almost 10 proofs! There were many other reviews that complained of similar inaccuracies; above and below. The manufacturer is clearly not engaged in the development of critical gauges, it makes a cheap hydrometer. Coming from this thing, however, you can use it wisely. Just don't use it for something where accuracy matters. Give it 1 star because when you make a gauge you just need it to measure just right. It's not like this.
