I've had two good toilet seats with broken plastic hinges. I ordered two of these kits and installed them today. Removing the bolts from the seats was the hardest part. When the head of the Phillips screw came loose, I tried drilling through the screws with a drill. I don't think I could have done that with a hand drill without breaking the bit. Out of 16 screws on two toilet seats, three screws did not come out. The screw floors were still in the hole. I used an impact wrench to install the new bolts so I could press hard on them as I tightened the bolts and it worked. The hinges had the exact location of the holes. The new screws went in next to what was left of the old screws. The recess for the screw head is the same size as the screw head, so screwing by hand is not very good. After installing the hinges, they worked as expected. The supplied fastening material contains toilet screws. I am now ready with the seat repaired in case the toilet seat fails.
