what happened to carter

I bought this pump to replace the crankcase pump on my old 30ft Allegro RV. This pump was a crank case and was almost 20 years old and just couldn't hold any pressure. I bought this thinking I would add something of quality and hopefully reliable boy I was wrong. I installed the first pump with new brackets and fittings, new lines and filters so I wouldn't have to do this again for the next 20 years. Start the rig and the pump works so I take a walk and nothing, it falls to the ground when it runs out of gas, now it works but it also has a mechanical pump on the engine. So I figured it might be too much pressure for the old mechanics so I put a new one on the motor but once I removed the lines I checked the P4070 and only a trickle of fuel came out. I called Carters Warranty and spoke to a good rep who sent me a new pump to replace the one I received. Well I install a spare and put in another new filter just to be sure and turn on the key and it buzzed a lot louder than the first Yippee pump or so I thought. I closed everything and prepared for a test drive, sat down and started, everything starts right away. We get on the ride and get a lot of energy out and it works great. Driving down a small freeway near my house, drive about 8 miles and turn around and the arrow falls back to the ground. At idle I check the electric pump and it stops so I unplug it and check the power supply then plug it back in and start it again. Jump and go home for about a mile, it clips again, jump out, clip and repeat a few times to get home, it sucks. I rewired the entire circuit to make sure there was no problem, but long story short, the new pump only runs for about 10 minutes and then shuts down, it just doesn't work. I contacted Carter again and asked for help or a suggestion, possibly a reliable pump. They sent a message that QA would look into this and let me know it had been 3 months and still no word. I've had a cheap $15 Chinese pump for a while until I decide what to do with it, but it works better and longer than the crankcase ever did. I took the top off the first pump and they forgot to put the vanes in the top impeller. CARTER OF EXCELLENT QUALITY! So I want that pump and that crankcase, but that experience just isn't good. Please just make a pump that works and watch out for a cheap imported pump that has lasted longer than your 2 brand new supposed quality pumps.
