Prostate and Nerve Saddle

No More Numbness! Ergon saddles should be the correct width. The idea is to put your weight on your sit bones and not on your nerves, prostate, or soft tissues. Sometimes my sit bones hurt a little during a long ride, but after I got off the bike the saddle didn't hurt much. Just the right amount of plush, but not so soft that it gets caught in different places. Adjust so the nose is level, resulting in a slightly raised back for your sit bones and exposing the nose to sensitive areas. Measure the width of your ischium by placing a piece of aluminum foil on a slightly soft surface such as thin foam or thick cardboard and sitting firmly on it. Using a marker, draw circles around the resulting dents and measure the width from center to center of the circles. The SM Comp works well for mountain biking or more upright road cycling. (Note that I have flat bars). The Comp model is a bit softer than the Pro model but doesn't have the problematic gel of cheaper models. Highly recommended!
