I decided to move my betta to this aquarium. It took me a few tries to get everything running smoothly, but it's been working for over a week now with no issues. I found the clay balls a bit dangerous and one day they flooded my room. You must inspect them upon arrival and discard those that are small enough to fit in a drain hose. They get stuck and cause problems. I have found that the best way to keep the tank running smoothly is to use rocks around the drain pipe and a shaker ball over the pipe itself. It prevents anything from getting stuck or closing and eliminates the whine of the hot tub. You can see and hear everything in my video. Inside the aquarium I added black gravel and some decor, the bettas love it. The filter isn't strong enough to hurt it or even suck on its fins. The plants seem to be doing a good job of keeping the water quality good. I grow my own lemon thyme because I use it for cooking.
