Holes in spring straps are filled with padding and difficult to rub - edges must be sealed. The leather stirrups fitted to the longest openings are still too short - and I'm only 5'2". The pad should be placed fairly high at the withers for the rider to be comfortable. It is impossible to pull the girth tight enough to install it without the tall mounting block.
