These would be fine for any child who doesn't put things in their mouth. However, if you have a child who wants to "taste" everything, don't buy these until they're older. My grandson is 15 mo. old, and as soon as I saw these I knew that I'd have to put them away for awhile. They could definitely be a choking hazard.They're small, and they feel more like cardboard than wood. I don't know how they're going to hold up. The pictures are very cute, but they aren't as bright as I was expecting. I'm definitely going to keep them, but my grandson won't be able to play with them for a year or so.
