Update:Well I got a bunch of these for my wife and girls who love candles. Noticed that only my wife uses them and my girls started asking for lighters again. They said they couldnt stand the sound.My wife and I can't hear a thing except for the little sizzle sound. But all my girls up to age 22 says there is a loud high pitch scream. The 24 yo says she can hear it but not as loudly.Removing a star because of all the complaining when I use it around young ears.Original review:I bought a total of 5 of these and they have all functioned as expected. No duds like some reviews.I was surprised how quickly these light and how powerful they are. They burn literally anything you expect to burn.The 600 lights on a charge doesn't seem to be too far off. I've used my main one in the kitchen for a few weeks lighting multiple candles and have definitely run them more than a few times and long durations while trying to light candles where we broke the wicks or covered in wax. It has only gone down 1 bar.Also used to light cigarettes. Wasn't ideal as you need to pinch the end of the cig to get it to fit, but my guests have all said it works. If I were a smoker I would stick to a butane lighter.I plan on keeping one of these in my camping kit for windy days. Lights wax dipped cotton in the wind like a champ when a typical light won't.Lights my natural gas stove and propane stove quickly. I'm a little concerned about the durability of the tip as I light the stoves though. Time will tell if too much heat damages it. It starts fires with small dry sticks and needles too.It works when wet. BUT it won't light anything that is wet. Dunking the tip in water and light a paper towel works fine. Trying to light a damp paper towel is impossible. If you need a starter that can dry to the point of lighting this isn't it.Overall I love these things. I don't have to toss disposable lighters or worry about how much gas I have left and I don't need to carry/store a butane bottle.
