I bought these (smooth) to help with calf tightness and tightness that I've been experiencing for about a year now. The tightness would be so severe that I would feel nauseous in the middle of the night. I chose these instead of socks as I walk around the house barefoot and am not used to wearing socks around the house. Since I'm not tall I took the small ones and they fit me perfectly. I managed to get them on just above my ankles and they ended up just below my knees leaving some room (don't stretch them too much). My calf size is average or slightly above average (I can zip my boots up to my knees but there isn't room) and they're not too tight, but I still feel compression. It's a pleasant feeling. I use them mostly when I go to bed and sometimes during the day as well. I've been using them for a few weeks now and my calves definitely feel a lot better. I no longer have the feeling that they will shrink any time soon. Cleaning: Like all fabric materials, they stretch slightly after several days of wear. So I change them every week or so. I wash them with regular laundry and dry them. After washing, they return to their original state.
