I use these hooks as outdoor curtain hangers. They are the perfect discreet size to be virtually invisible while performing their duties. We have very crazy winds and they are more than strong enough to withstand almost gale force winds tearing the curtains from all sides. They've been out for about 5 months and I haven't noticed any rust, but we live in a very low humidity climate with little rain. The internet tells me carbon steel rusts (that's what they're made of) but it's a huge package and since I have pre-drilled holes it only takes me a minute if I need to replace them. I found the inside diameter of the eye listed should be accurate (0.31"), but the outside diameter is larger - it's just over 0.5" when the listing says it's 0.437". This doesn't affect my use at all, but in case anyone needs specific measurements, here they are (photo of caliper measurement attached). Overall I'm very happy with this huge pack of sturdy eye hooks. Great price for a hook in bulk I would recommend these - but probably not the best option for wet use!
