6p (so far) 5 stars on performance but current firmware health is over 1/2 so I've averaged my score to 3. Firmware, especially GUI, in version 1.10.3 leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, there is a GUI with wizards, but you will soon find that many configuration options require a command line interface and the command line interface is the only way to get accurate operational and configuration information. I've made (and committed) changes to the command line interface or saved changes to the GUI, and I've consistently found that the GUI doesn't reflect configuration changes or operational state after a few reboot or shutdown-reboot cycles. In other words, if you only use the GUI, you can often get WRONG information, old leases (which no longer exist), old configuration settings (deleted) and (even worse) new settings (firewall rules, basic interface/DHCP changes). configuration) DON'T SEE ), VPN changes) for up to a day even after multiple reboot cycles. Note. The actual configuration/working status is always available through the command line interface, but the GUI just isn't reliable. I didn't have an edge router before, so I was tempted to buy an inexpensive and well-received Model X just to see if it was a common mistake or a quirk of the new 6p. While I could forgive these quirks of the $50 X, the 6p costs over $200 and Ubiquiti should fare better. One more note and warning, this device will NOT protect you from incorrect setting changes, but this is more of a "must do" and is purely based on my assessment that you cannot rely on it if you need to eliminate an incorrect setting you see in the GUI. Despite the reviews above, I will leave the device. Performance has been excellent, especially as a VPN server, the online community is strong, and UB has a long history of regular firmware updates. The device is stable when you configure and manage it via the CLI, and I hope that the GUI's usability will improve in the future.
