I'm used to using Fat Max tapes when measuring roofs. I was happy to use my new 40ft band; This is the first time I've used one for so long. I finally took it out of the box after using my old one for a few weeks and decided it was time to try this one. I pulled it out and pushed it to the edge of the roof. So far, so good. Then I went to remove the tape and it came back very quickly. I couldn't slow it down fast enough and now the tape flexes within the first two inches. Now the tape is stuck in the case and is difficult to get out. I literally damaged my band the first measurement I took with it. Admittedly I lost control of the tape winding, but it still sucks for such an expensive tape that snaps within 30 seconds of the first measurement. All in all I like these tapes. Be aware, however, that this length of tape can absorb a lot of speed as it winds up and potentially become damaged as it rotates. Nevertheless, I recommend this product.
