I bought this knife mainly for the black scribe blade as I already had the extra orange blade. I was hoping there would be an easy way to cut paper in a straight line as I'm not very good at using a ruler and bone cutter. Unfortunately, the notch isn't deep enough to really impress the filing cabinet I'm using. It leaves a slight mark on the paper but doesn't really cut into it, even if I wipe the blade back and forth a few times. I expect the orange blade will work just as well as the one I already have, but the black blade is disappointing. Last note: Make sure you have a three track trimmer before ordering. There are two types of Fiskars replacement blades designed for triple lead trimmers.
