Review on Google Pixel 2 XL 64GB Unlocked GSM/CDMA 4G LTE Octa-Core Smart Phone (Just Black): Powerful & Versatile Communication Device by David West

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Such a great device with such egregious flaws

The Google Pixel 2 XL is a real $200 and $200 smartphone beast, a real bargain if not for a long list of issues with the device would be. . Short battery life due to the sheer power of the hardware and Google's desire to make the device thin enough. Screens that are usually fantastic (and are great at 1440p at 538ppi) but occasionally struggle. The infamous mic issue that made me return my Pixel 2XL (and also the reason I bought the Pixel 3a XL, I love the lineup even for its issues. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment, even though I Google that -Ecosystem extensively uses certainly a large chunk of it.) If it wasn't for the mic issue I would have kept this phone and probably rated it another star. Unfortunately, buying this phone is a toss-up with all the hardware bugs that can come up (and pretty quickly). Pros: Snappy visual core chip Great camera Great screen (usually) higher level of integration with the Google ecosystem file transfer devices extremely short battery life glued case (very difficult to service and customers can't just replace an already dead battery when it goes bad)

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Volume
