We have 10 year old plantation blinds on each window. Some of the staples were defective and it was impossible to find replacements locally. I've tried using staples designed for a staple gun and while I finally got them to work, it was a nightmare to get them installed properly. The braces in this set fit perfectly and the locking pins work well. I will admit that it was quite difficult to swap out the brackets as my hands could fit in the space available between the shutters. Update: I had to replace a pin on a bathroom latch. Fits well, easy assembly, highly recommended.
