Works well, stable signal in detached garage, better deals

I thought I got a good deal because it went up to $60 after I got it. Now back to $40. Even at this price I think I paid $40 too much. The new AV600 is only $10 more expensive. But it serves its purpose. I needed Wi-Fi in my detached garage for my old Firestick and also so I could watch videos there on my phone or tablet. I tried AC750 WiFi RE (no power line) and it was patchy. But it worked well enough. This RE gives a more reliable signal but is not actually faster. I also tried the AC1750 WiFi RE that my dad lent me, it also worked fine but gave a red signal most of the time. WiFi RE doesn't pass the signal well enough indoors and the router's signal well enough when it's in the garage. So I was hoping that a RE power line would work better with a WiFi extender. Either yes or no. Disappointed that it doesn't have 5GHz as there are many competing 2.4GHz signals in my area. But the signal I get seems more stable. The "power" side is plugged into an outlet in my basement on the same circuit as the garage. Update: It still works surprisingly well, but is still a bit sensitive to placement. I have a WiFi transceiver plugged into the same outlet as the garage door opener. This degrades the signal somewhat, but keeps it on track. I get around 25-30Mbps with Speedofme which is good enough. I also get a better signal from my back patio than my router or the WiFi RE I have in my living room.
