The packaging had longer filaments that I pulled out very easily. Then there will be more and more. All of the brushes did the same thing, and when all the material was drawn from one (with my fingers), it's easy to see why. It's all just pulled through a small plastic loop on the handle - absolutely nothing is holding it in place. The handles themselves seem pretty strong, but if all the fibers fall into the toilet while scrubbing, the handle won't help you. Bought this because of the many positive reviews. Very disappointed. If you decide to buy them, I wish you better luck!
