We've tried 3 different types of kernels (Jolly Time, Orville R, and Trader Joe's brands) and many different cooking methods, but never got a full container of popcorn. However, now we can reliably fill from 2/3 to 3/4 full without burning. As long as you're willing to put up with a significant amount of unextracted cores at the end, I think you'll be happy with this popper. It's easy to use and clean, and doesn't have the clutter of microwave popcorn. Here's our method for getting the most out of this popper: * Preheat a glass container by pouring some water in it and heating it in the microwave. it's within 90 seconds. We've found that it helps get more popcorn if container is warm first* Empty container completely and dry* Add 1 and 1/2 measured "scoops" of kernels, dry, no oil* for 3 minutes and 30 seconds beat (ideal time depends on your microwave oven YMMV)* Do not use silicone lid to melt butter; If you want butter, melt it separately. This provides a better coating and makes it easier to clean or invert the container and immediately prepare a new batch.
