The base of the pot melted in my microwave the first time I used it. Very dangerous! I let it cool, scraped the plastic off the microwave and sent it back to the seller.

So disappointed we had another microwave popcorn that we have used for years. Wanted a new one and thought it would be nice as it's glass and dishwasher safe. No matter how much fresh popcorn, cooking time, butter or oil, the popcorn will burn and only half the kernels will float. Not worth the money.

This little popper is expensive, but worth every penny. I'm glad I bought it and here's why. The red top, lid and base are made of silicone so they don't get hot. The top notch in the lid is for measuring cores and I use two instead of one and it pops out almost all the way up. I chose this one because other similar items didn't have protective plastic around the bottom and I just knew it wouldn't last long if I didn't have bottom protection.
