* The neck of the bottle is 1" and 13/16" in diameter. There is a small protrusion about 1.5" below the neck which probably reduces the diameter by about 2-3/16"*. Filled to the brim with water, the bottle weighed 2 pounds*. hot water bottle that was 125 degrees Fahrenheit. The bottle was kept in a house with a room temperature of 69 degrees. After the first 4 hours, the water temperature was 121 degrees Fahrenheit; 6 hours later 117 degrees Fahrenheit. After 21 hours, the water temperature was 35 degrees Fahrenheit, but it still felt comfortably warm when you swallowed it. I was satisfied with this temperature maintenance. If I used boiling or near-boiling water, it would be hot at the end of the 21 hour test. * The bottle feels very strong and looks sharp. The carry handle is comfortable, well attached and fits about 3-4 inches wide. The tapered neck and smooth metal construction make it easy to grab and hold around the neck. Bottle keeps water safe and cap prevents spills.* Cap must be fully removed to access contents. I'm pleased with the 30 ounce capacity and the bottles' ability to maintain the temperature of the contents. I've tried installing bottle cages in my car and they fit fine, albeit at the maximum diameter. My everyday backpack, which has a bottle mesh mount and is not adjustable, fit and adjusted to the size of the bottle. In the past I have used a metal water bottle to carry cold drinks. I prefer not to put ice cubes in as they rattle on the sides of the bottle on the trail or in other conditions. Considering the temperature performance I've experienced with this bottle, I'm sure it only takes a couple of ice cubes to maintain a nice cold/chilly temperature setting that suits my needs. If you are looking for a larger capacity 30 ounce water bottle that will keep you warm or cold, I would highly recommend this product. I look forward to using mine for hiking as the summer heat season approaches.
