The cage turned out to be even bigger than I expected. I have two rats and they love it. You just have to find enough stuff to fill it up! Great alternative to Critter Nation. Update: After 2.5 years my rats are gone and the cage is doing great. With weekly cleaning, the cage will hold up well. Rust started wherever the surface was scratched and as I often cleaned the paving pieces some of the corners were a bit rusty as were the rails that the floor slides along. It was mostly the urine. Pros: good design, nice neutral color, large opening. Assembly less than 30 minutes, rolls well. Cons: A mounting hole was misaligned. It is fixed for 10 minutes and with a metal file. It could have been drilled. There is no top hole as shown in the photo. The main entrance would be better if there were two smaller doors. Also, the retractable floor requires you to temporarily lift the bottom ramp to remove it. I used binder clips to hold the fleece to the shelves and bottom of the cage. Any noise can be eliminated by placing insulating material (rubber, flat foam) in certain corners. Otherwise not too loud with two rats.
