Even though the sides appear to be hard, they were able to pick up cones. No gripes with the running shoes, overall (they're great for ice). Totally silent. After only two months, one of the front tires had to be thrown away because a spike had punctured the wheel. After, the tire "reached" smoothly, resulting in the development of lumps. Perhaps it's just a fluke that nobody has mentioned problems with the second one.
