This product is a good deal for what it is and what it is for. The setup was easy to integrate into my home network. Installation couldn't have been easier if someone else did it for me. There are many installation videos and I would suggest watching some of them, you can get some time-saving and practical tips. I routed the sensor cable over the garage door track. Instead of installing the sensors in the middle of the door, I used the edge of the door and the edge of the track. Instead of the included double sided tape, I used VHB 3M double sided tape (if it can attach the spoiler to the car, it can hold the sensors in place). Cable ties were used to attach the sensor cable to the garage door rails and wire clips were used to attach the sensor cable to the ceiling. Cable ties were also used to attach the main unit to the corner bracket that supports the Liftmaster garage door opener. The new version is pre-installed and powered by USB. This makes installation easier and much safer (no hassle with 120VAC). So what if there are downsides? While the hardware and setup are mostly flawless, the app is worth a bit of work. I don't currently have Google Assistant or Alexa. Although I've read that there is great integration with these smart home assistants, I only use the app. The basic functions of the application (opening and closing the door) work fine and the notifications work, but the advanced functions automatically close the door at XX time, sub-programs and scenes are not implemented yet. I give this device 5 stars for ease of setup and hardware and 4 stars for the app. When Meross enhances your application by adding procedures and automatic schedules, this product becomes a smart opener. I highly recommend this as a great start to home automation. (Update) My old Liftmaster opener is making dissatisfied noises. I picked up a Genie 3055 on Black Friday (3/4 hp belt drive, no wifi or smart options - nice and quiet!). Genie installed and Meross connected - PERFECT! Works without problems. In addition, Meross has updated its app so that you can close the door at a specified time (e.g. at 20:00, if the door is open, it will automatically close) and after opening, close it within a specified period of time ( Example: The door closes 1 hour after opening). 5 stars for these guys.
